So since this is obviously a burger joint, I wasn't sure I'd find anything to eat here. However, as a vegetarian, I was pleasantly surprised! Five Guys has two vegetarian sandwich options... a veggie sandwich with or without cheese, and grilled cheese. I opted for a veggie sandwich with cheese and Cajun fries. The sandwich was large and overflowing with all kinds of veggies, mayo, and cheese. It was actually pretty darn good. However, the fries were probably my favorite part. You just can't go wrong with spicy seasoning on large, meaty fries. I'd gladly come back to Five Guys for a bite to eat. Oh, and if it's just you and another person dining, the regular size fries are more than enough!

Love their fries! Sometimes their burgers taste great, other times they leave me wishing I'd have ordered something else

Not bad, but not great. Fairly simple menu. Kids like it, but I think it's because they can throw peanut shells on the floor. I usually get the (pretty greasy) burger w/ cheese and mushrooms. I do like that they don't skimp on fries.

You already know about Five Guys Burgers & Fries. Because if you didn't, then you probably have a pretty sad life. Regardless, this is their newest location in the KC metro and besides the fact that they serve the usual awesome burgers and hot dogs, they have RED CREME SODA at this location. Oooohhhhh yeah baby . . . . nothing like washing down a huge seductive burger with a gallon of that stuff . . .

Today as I waited for my food, I saw someone refilling the ice in the coke machines. He wore plastic gloves and carried a bucket of ice. He then used a ladder to dump the ice into the machine. This was gross to me because he touched the ladder with the gloves ON and then touched the ice...some of which landed on top the machine and he touched it and got it inside. I won't be getting ice there again. Also, the floor of the area where they make the food was dirty and I saw a piece of cheese slide off my burger and touch the silver counter (which I hope was clean!)

More hype than anything. Good marketing. Makes the public believe they have the best burgers, which in fact they don't.

Good, not great. I think 3.5 stars is definitely more accurate for Five Guys. The positives are they load up your burger with anything you want, no cost added, so I can get things like grilled onions and mushrooms free, whereas most places charge a bit extra. And their fries may as well be unlimited because they shove about half of Idaho's potatoes in there. On the down side, the wait is a little too long for a fast food joint. I understand things are cooked to order but even so, I feel like my wait should fall somewhere between the length of time it would take at a McDs and the length of time it would take at Blanc. At 15 minutes, it probably fell around the time that it would take at Blanc and the burger wasn't even that tasty. The meat's ok but it's really the toppings that make it taste a whole lot better.

This was my first experience at a Five Guys and i must say it was pretty decent. Ordered: Cheeseburger (with everything) Price: $5.80 Ambiance: This place is highly reminiscent of inn-n-out on the west coast but it's just like any other fast food burger joint. I did enjoy the fact that there was a sign telling you which farm they got your potatoes from that day. There are also boxes/bag of potatoes, peanut oil, and other things near the counter, kind of showing off the ingredients they use. Service: Friendly and got my food within 7 minutes so no complaints here. Food: The best thing about Five Guys is getting your food as it is all served to-go style in a paper bag. I was expecting to find a nice flat cylindrical wrapped package but was pleasantly surprised to find that I got a giant rounded cube instead. It's always a good sign when your burger is as tall as it is wide. My burger was STUFFED with toppings and two hearty patties. I really appreciated that they included mushrooms in their toppings for no additional charge. I thoroughly enjoyed these toppings as you could taste the grilled onions, mushrooms, and cheese. The problem I had with my burger was that they did not adequately salt the patty to bring out the full flavor of the meat, which should be the foundation of any great burger. The other problem was the buns which really need to be larger/thicker to compensate for the tons of stuff sandwiched between them. They end up getting compressed and soggy, becoming more of nuisance than contributing anything meaningful to the burger. People who have had a lightly-buttered griddle-toasted bun from inn-n-out know the satisfying and savory crunch the buns have when you bite into them. This is just my personal preference however and the salt thing could have just been the guy on patty-duty that day. Overall Five Guys is a solid burger choice as long as your expectations are appropriate. They're not fighting for the title of 'best gourmet burger' but they add gourmet elements to what is essentially a really solid fast food burger. They're not stingy at all and cook all your food to order so it's fresh and hot when you get it. I would gladly eat here again but wouldn't go out of my way to do so.

Yup, I'll admit it. One of the best burgers I've had in a long time. The "little" sizes for burgers and fries is the right amount of food so I don't know how anyone can eat the regular. And better yet, all the burger topping choices are free! The fries are a bit greasy... Not soggy, but pretty greasy. So much that you can see the grease slowly turn the paper bag transparent. The soda dispensing machine is pretty cool. I first saw one of them when I was in London, and although it is very cool, it takes people a bit longer to get their drinks since it gives them too many options! Good or bad? I say bad! :) And free peanuts? Eh... Reminds me of Texas Roadhouse... Or a baseball game... Or the circus. I could live without it.

I really like five guys. However, there is some sticker shock these days that precludes offering five stars. Consider the price below for two hamburgers and one french fry. 1 x Hamburger (1 x $5.69) = $5.69 No bun (wrapped in lettuce) Ketchup: Regular Relish: Regular Mustard: Regular Lettuce: Regular Green Peppers: Regular Pickles: Regular Tomatoes: Regular Grilled Onions: Regular 1 x Hamburger (1 x $5.69) = $5.69 Ketchup: Regular 1 x Cajun Fries (1 x $3.39) = $3.39 SUBTOTAL $14.77 TAX $1.39 TOTAL $16.16

I'm a Five Guys fan, generally. We've visited this location a few times - mostly in conjunction with visiting a soccer game in the nearby Sporting KC stadium. Location is typically very busy, on game days. Good sized location. Similar to other Five Guys in the fare. This one has the 'sophisticated' self-serve soda fountains, with many varieties of Coke products available by touch screen. More expensive than McDonald's, but slightly cheaper than the Granite City Brewery across the parking lot.

Another great 5 Guys experience. Burgers were tasty and even had no complaints from my mom. Only complaint I ever have is that fries are never crisp enough but still tasty. Glad to be back where I can have a 5 Guys on the area

This place is fantastic. I always get hamburger and fries and have never been upset when I left. The hamburger is so good it melts in your mouth and they give you a ton of fries that are also great.

I enjoy going to Five Guys for a burger. Fresh burger made to order and fresh cut fries...what is not to love? Friendly attentive staff and fast service at this Five Guys helped this one receive 5-Stars.

What an appropriately named place! Sure, they might serve BLTs and hot dogs, but 99.5% of people I assume are coming here for burgers and fries. And I think for them, 3 Stars is pretty much perfect, because they're A-OK. I have to admit that I am a fan of a grease-bomb burger, so this was a pretty satisfying meal. For you people in the know of KC restaurants, I'd put this on par with Town Topic or LC's rather than a BRGR, Beer Kitchen or Blanc. There aren't a ton of options beyond the traditional burger toppings, though they do have jalopenos, which I think is as exotic as they get. But if you want a gut bomb bacon cheeseburger, they've got it. And honestly, don't we all occasionally want a gut bomb bacon cheeseburger? Fry portions were huge, but they weren't very good. Soggy and bland. Maybe next time I'll try the cajun fries. Yeah they have free peanuts, but who cares? Not I said the Matt. Bonus points for having one of those super duper soda machines with 1,000,000 options. I still go for Coke Zero, but it's good to know that you can probably get something like a diet strawberry Fanta with vanilla syrup. I will say that I think the food took quite a while for how basic it is, and the fact that making these grease bombs is all that they do. PLUS, two bacon cheese burgers, one order of fries and two small sodas came to like $23. That's pretty ridiculous in my book. If one was closer to me, I'd say I'd go there to help combat hangovers. But beyond that I won't be rushing back. I'll stick to LCs and Town Topic.

One of the best hamburgers I ever had. Fast service, not the most friendly but it will do. Tables need to be wiped down a little more often half are dirty when you go to sit down.

Simple menu like In N Out where there's burgers, cheeseburgers, and bacon burger, or hot dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches, all of which you can add or customize your toppings and sauce to your liking. 2 hamburger patties for each regular burger. Fries come cajun or regular, if it's your first time I'd go cajun seasoned fries and grab some free peanuts to snack on. Fullfilling burger with 2 patties and your toppings especially if you load it up, if you have a small appetite sharing might be an option, but be forewarned this is a messy burger.

  • John C.

They have a sign up letting you know where the potatoes in your fries came from. It's a shame they're so greasy you can hardly recognize them as having been potatoes in a past life.

  • Shawn B.

I don 't get it. Nothing special here. No taste to these burgers and I've tried more than just this location. Sure, I can taste all the ingredients they add but the burger has no taste. Yes, they give you a giant bag of average fries you can't possibly eat by yourself. If you're looking for quantity go here. If you're looking for quality go to Culver's or some restaurant where you can order how you want it cooked. Or better yet, hope and dream Kansas City will get In-N-Out Burger!

Not much I can say that hasn't been said already. My kids love the overpriced burgers here. Agree with the rest, you get a lot of soggy fries. I admit, I do enjoy the free peanuts here. It does get packed here at the Legends location and finding a table is sometimes a challenge. Our table was dirty and I asked one of the workers to spray it with the cleaner and paper towels she had in her hand but she instead left and came back with some nasty looking cleaning rag to wipe it down with. Now the table is wet and probably even dirtier from that rag but hey at least there's no more crumbs on it...and fortunately for us, the long wait for the overpriced food allowed for the germ infested table to dry. We weren't singled out in terms of the wait so I'm not going to complain and I also think it's ok since they are made to order. Not my favorite for a burger but my kids love it so I'm ok with it. Besides I saved enough money from all the "deals" we got on their clothes here at the outlets right??

A run of the mill burger joint where a regular burger is actually a double and a order of fries could be a meal by itself. What can you expect? A greasy burger so big it's hard to take a bite out of, a massive order of soggy fries, a endless supply of...... peanuts?, and a pop machine with every type of pop on earth! (maybe a little exaggerated on the pop but there is a ton of choices) Seriously though. The burgers were fairly good. (green peppers and fried onions on a burger are awesome) Beats any drive through place your gonna go to that's for sure! Tried both types of fries. (reg & cajun) Both were pretty greasy and soggy but the cajun one's masked that quite a bit. For what your getting the wait seemed pretty long the two times I've been. The seating at the legends location is very crammed together. Quite annoying if it's busy when you go. They do have a GLUTEN FREE option. Basically you get your burger minus the bun and a fork! You can also have the fries and peanuts. Good way to get your burger fix if this is a issue for you. Conclusion OK burgers, lame fries and a price point that can easily be matched or even beaten by a better destination! But if it's there, and your hungry for a burger, it out classes fast food that's for certain.

After hearing from my friends over and over about how good Five Guys was, I finally dined on some last week. So how was it, well lets go over the pros and cons. Pros: The Guy behind the counter who took my order was very friend and unusally enthusiastic than I've seen other fast food workers. I had ordered my burger with jalapenos and he caution me than their peppers were sliced fresh and might be too intense. Pah! I can handle the heat. Their portion of fries were very generous, they were overflowing out of their container and into the bag, and with numerous free toppings, there are thousands of custom burger creations that one can make. Cons: As Rodney Dangerfield once said, "The food aint' great but the portions are terrific!" This describes their fries. Overly season and mushy, I expect a good set of fries to be lightly toasty on the outside and soft on the inside. These were just soft, but this is just a minor nitpick, where Five Guys really dropped the ball is their prices. For a quarter pound burger (with free toppings) fries and drink, it was 11 dollars and change. I would expect a lot more from my burger for that price. I can go to any chain steakhouse and get a bigger burger, fries and drink for almost the same price. So while the burger was tasty, for what I paid, I would expect a lot more. So, if it wasn't for the price, I would say Five Guys is a decent place but as is, it just was too expensive and a little underwhelming.

Initial thought coming in was this would be a great burger place with reasonable prices. Once I saw the menu I was a little shocked that it was more expensive that what I thought. I ordered a cheeseburger, fries, and a regular drink............. 12 dollars? They don't specify on the menu that their hamburger and cheeseburgers are doubles. I thought the "Little" hamburgers were children size. I do like everything is fresh and can't express how I hate paying for food that has sat around waiting to be served. The fries do remind me on In and Outs in LA and they give you enough for 3 people. Overall the pricing is a tad much but did find the cheeseburgers good.

Great food. Service is quick and the product is fresh. The price isn't the best but it's well worth it for the amount of food you get.

Once you get that beef hankering for a good burger, you can't shake it till you find that burger that satisfies your craving. I have ate at 5 guys in Olathe many times and always thought their food was top notch. I have since learned that visiting a different locale can change everything. I opted to visit the Legends location instead of returning to the tried and true. When we walked in, there was music blaring so loudly, the girl at the counter had trouble hearing what we were ordering. Seeking a seat in the dining area, I moved tables three times because every table seemed to have a speaker over it. Now I am not one of those old people that crab about music in the dining room. It was even my kind of music..Satellite 80s hits. What I did object to was the excessive volume. You couldn't talk to each other across the table without yelling. I would have enjoyed it at a lower setting. Not appropriate for a dining atmosphere. I don't want to eat at a nightclub. We waited almost 12 minutes for our food to be announced. The cook was literally shouting the order numbers for anyone to hear it. He is probably hoarse after a shift of that. I have to say, the food we got did not meet the standards that I had been shown at the Olathe store. The burger was mediocre at best. But the real disappointment was the fries... They really tout that they have the greatest fries around. And I would have to agree, till now. During our 12 minute wait we noticed that all the fryer baskets were full of fries hanging over the oil vats, already cooked and getting cold. And that is exactly the fries we got cold, rubbery, and most of them about an inch to two inches long. I was used to hot, crunchy long skin on fries....a slap in the face to say the least. Our bill was $22 for two....it was worth about $8 in my book for what we got. I think I am on a roll when it comes to culinary disappointments, This is my third bad review in a row. Wow, am I making some horrible decisions, at dinner time. It is my goal to correct that and soon.

Fast food burgers and fries good stuff. Pick your toppings! I believe they have 15 choices! Very good stuff! The cajun fries are amazing! Just a really good place for a good american cheese burger! I have to say I have been back many times! If I go back that's a very good sign!
